Amita P. Raval, DMD

 

Dr. Amita Raval is a licensed family dentist practicing at Boulder Hill Dental.  She was raised in Oswego, and was a patient at Boulder Hill Dental as a child. She graduated from Oswego High School. Dr Raval then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Psychology.  She went on to continue her education at Southern Illinois University in Alton, Illinois and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1997.  

Dr. Raval strongly believes in learning from colleagues, and staying informed, therefore; she is affiliated with many professional dental associations at local, state, national and international levels.  She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Illinois State Dental Society, Fox River Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, European Association of Military Periodontists, and the German-American Dental Club.

After practicing at different locations in the suburbs of Chicago, Missouri, and Stuttgart, Germany she and her husband, Dr. Mark Commean decided to settle in her hometown of Oswego.  They have 2 children, Dilan, 4 and Sofia, 2. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Raval enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

 

 

Mark Commean, DMD

 

Dr. Mark Commean is a licensed general dentist, practicing cosmetic and family dentistry at Boulder Hill Dental. He graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1996 and then attended their School of Dental Medicine with his degree~Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2000. In 2001, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry in the U.S. Army, where he served 4 years.

Because he is committed to providing optimal care to his patients, Dr. Commean maintains a thorough awareness of the latest advances in techniques and treatment options. He is a certified Invisalign provider because he loves the opportunity it provides to safely straighten their teeth without unsightly traditional braces. Being active in professional dental organizations helps him stay vigilant in his pursuit to provide the best dental care possible. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Fox River Dental Society.

Dr. Commean practiced for several years as an associate in Plainfield, IL. Then in 2005, he and his wife, Dr. Amita Raval, D.M.D. purchased Boulder Hill Dental Associates ~ near their home in Montgomery, Illinois. Besides keeping his patients smiling, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, Dilan, 4, and  Sofia, 2. For fun, he loves traveling and watching or playing sports.
